Good News Edition!

Meet the 2025 Women's Work Short Play LAB Members

We are delighted to announce the six new playwright members of the 2025 Women's Work Short Play LAB! You can learn more about them ON OUR WEBSITE.

A team of director/dramaturgs will collectively help to develop original short scripts based on a theme that will be assigned at the first meeting on February 9th. Jenny Greeman, Jennie Reich Litzky and Dani Ortiz are returning;  Catalina Beltrán and Kristen Kelso join us for the first time. NPTC Artistic Director Melody Brooks continues to lead the LAB.

The six plays will be produced in our annual Meganne George Short Play Festival the second week of August, bringing the total number of scripts developed and produced in the LAB since 2008 to 88!

The Women's Work Project includes The Short Play LAB, the Full-length LAB and ON HER SHOULDERS. In recognition of the project's uniqueness and quality, we are proud to be supported by the NYS Council on the Arts, the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs, and the many generous donors who contribute to our annual Holiday Fundraiser!
